Residents can expect to share call in the Psychiatric Emergency Room and Trinity Springs Pavilion for Saturday and Sunday weekend shift. Residents average 1-2 twelve hour shifts a month in the Psychiatric Emergency Room, scheduled from 8am-8pm or 8pm-8am. Residents in the PGY-1 and PGY-2 years typically cover the night shifts, new TSP assessment, and residents in the PGY-3 and PGY-4 years typically cover day shifts. Call cannot be taken from home or by phone due to the nature of the Psychiatric Emergency Room. Interns on internal medicine will not be required to take call in psychiatry during those months, but they will be on call every 6 days for internal medicine. We strictly adhere to the 80 hour work week restrictions with an average in the mid-fifties.
