Jerry Henderson, MD, MBA, FACP, Chief Medical Information Officer, Acclaim Physicians Group
A Fort Worth native, Dr. Henderson completed medical school at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and medical residency at UT Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. In 2004, he was recruited to MD Anderson Cancer Center to work in their specialty 43 bed Emergency Center. While there, Dr. Henderson created a clinical fellowship in Oncologic Emergency Medicine, the first of its kind.
Also, Dr. Henderson developed a niche software for oncologic emergencies called Zero-G. This software supported clinical documentation and professional billing for the Emergency Center for roughly 5 years. For his work with Zero-G, Dr. Henderson received the Innovator of the Year award in 2013. Dr. Henderson served as the Associate CMIO for the hospital network and took a major role in the implementation of Epic which went live in 2016. Dr. Henderson has worked extensively with the MD Anderson data and analytics teams.
In 2017 Dr. Henderson completed an MBA at Rice University. Dr. Henderson has been the Chief Medical Information Officer of JPS Health Network since 2019. He sees the Chief Medical Information Officer role as a strategic position within the organization that links clinical care, operations and information technology. Since his arrival, Dr. Henderson has brought telehealth to JPS and has also helped to design and deploy tools to fight the current pandemic.
