G Robert Stephenson, MD, FACS, Vice President, Chief Quality Officer
Dr Stephenson has served as Vice President and Chief Quality Officer at the JPS Health Network since 2019. A native of Guelph, Ontario, Canada, he received his Bachelor’s degree from Colgate University and his Medical Degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed residency training in General Surgery at the Duke University Medical Center and a year of fellowship training in Transplant Surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He joined the medical staff at JPS in 2004 in Trauma and General Surgery and subsequently founded the JPS Surgical Oncology Clinic. In 2017, he was named Vice Chief of Surgery for Quality Safety and Patient Experience, a position that he still holds. He has been a member of the faculty in Surgery at the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center since 2005. He was appointed Professor of Surgery at the TCU/UNTHSC School of Medicine in 2020. He is author of numerous refereed scientific papers and book chapters and has presented at national and international scientific meetings. Clinically, he is best known for his expertise in hepatopancreaticobiliary surgery.
